Customer service call centers are perhaps the easiest to deal with if one has the right type of voice. Great news about the house, even if the council are as cheap-arse as ever. We took he council too court for negligence some years back and they settled outside for five grand. I'll tell you the full story when I mail.

Pass a nice end of year... Love and Thoughts, Shane. X

or

X-mas (as in x rated mothers!) aarghh... a Christmas cracker joke à la Monsieur Levene!

Middle-aged hell's Angels... these were past that! Maybe the youngest of them was 70! I don't even think they were real Hell's Angels... rather a group of old bike enthusiasts who'd sown Angels patches on their jackets.

On a serious note, it was always disappointing and depressing when my mother would finally give men like Steve the boot or her alcoholism would make them run a mile. I don't write about it here as it's not the subject, but for the while they were around they were also a part of my and my brother, sister's life. With someone like Steve it was the first time we'd go to school with a little money in our pockets, the first time outside the annual school grants we'd have new school uniforms, we'd have someone we could ask for money to go out with friends or join in on school trips, we could arrive into the home economics class with all the ingredients we needed for that weeks cookery, etc. Also, via the cash he gave mum, we'd have different and better quality food and dinners, and usually, in the first weeks Mum met someone like that, she'd make a huge effort to curb her drinking so as she didn't blow her chances of a payday before it'd even began. So it was always a disappointment for us to see good men like that pushed out, often in exchange for some penniless dosser who'd turn up with the crotch of his pants soaked in piss.

It'd be unfair to blame the alcohol, because of course, the alcohol was only the consequence of another tragedy. It was just the weave of life in the end... it just flowed like that.

And on that terribly depressing note I'll wish you a Happy New Year!!! But more, a Happy full year to come... He laughed at first, then realized it wasn't a joke.

There's always a place for humour but you've got to be careful it doesn't turn into farce and reduce even the serious aspects to that level. But it's nice to have a little change of feel now and again. Though usually the punchline to my humour is something brutally shocking... so beware.

Coming up next: The lodgers get more than they bargained for... a group post, involving a four man pile up and most of my friends.

XMemoirs of a Heroinheadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17401281805284793756noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8919235820407058844.post-85840133524407966572012-12-27T03:20:02.569-08:002012-12-27T03:20:02.569-08:00Hey Ya Ben...
